The late Sakıp Sabancı, the Chairman of Sabancı Holding, was remembered with a ceremony held at his grave on the 14th anniversary of his death.
Sabancı Holding’s chairman Güler Sabancı, Sabancı Holding’s Vice Chairman Erol Sabancı, the late Sakıp Sabancı’s wife Türkan Sabancı, their daughter and Sabancı Holding’s Board Member Sevil Sabancı and Dr. Dilek Sabancı as well as Sabancı Group’s management, business persons, Beşiktaş Sakıp Sabancı Anatolian High School, Türkan Sabancı School for the Visually Impaired and Dilek Sabancı Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School students attended to the ceremony held at the Zincirlikuyu Cemetery.
Sabancı Holding’s General Secretary Nedim Bozfakıoğlu gave a speech at the ceremony and said; “After all those years, we still remember Mr. Sabancı for his smiling face, social contributions, achievements and vision. He always has a place in our hearts because he opened his heart to all. Philanthropy in his heart guided him in his actions from the companies he established to the social projects. He was always close to the community. He tried to connect with everyone around him and learn something from everyone. After all those years, he is still remembered as “Sakıp Agha” not only because of rich personality and his success as a businessman but also for his modesty, sincerity and philanthropy.
Mr. Sabancı leaded our Group for 38 years. During this long period of time, he guided the Group by adapting to the changing conditions. His motto was “Realizing change at the right time, adapting to the changing conditions and being authentic”. He said “The one who sees change in a changing community and growing economy and leads innovations will always be successful”. Based on this principle, he guided Sabancı Group to become a pioneering organization not only in the business world but in every field. Today, we are building “Sabancı of New Generation” and see change as an “opportunity”. As Sabancı Group, we never and will never give up on producing. We will continue to work in a manner honoring Mr. Sabancı’s memory and based on our responsibility towards the Sabancı name and our country”.
